Name 5 movies ( horror, thriller, sci-fi, drama ) that gave you the willies, creeped you out or changed you in some way.

1. The Exorcist .. I don't believe in the boogyman but I do believe in evil and it is the ONLY movie I cannot watch alone in the dark, especially the new release of the original. There are added scenes that were omitted from the first release and that is a good thing because I actually stood in the movie theater ( oh so many years ago ) and watched them carry a few women out...passed out cold.If those added scenes had been in..there would have been more fainters I'm sure.In my opinion, no other horror movie has ever come close to The Exorcist, and I seriously doubt one ever will. Butt thats just my opinion.

2. Dracula ( original ).. I think that this movie was the start of my love for horror films. It will take one heck of an actor to ever replace Bela Lugosi in my heart!

3. Jaws.. I grew up in Florida and use to swim WAY, WAY out into the ocean and body surf back to shore...until...I saw Jaws. Now, I won't go out any further than knee deep and even then, I'm watching.OK...so I'm a scaredy cat.

4. Untracable..A recent move that creeped me out. The guy was a real sicko.Sort of like SAW but better, in it's own storyline.

5. Hostel 2..Theres a part where the girl is crying for her mother and it just made my blood run cold.

Great question, Medusa! I have several horror movies that stick out in my mind for one reason or the other, but here's the short list of them:

1. Jaws - Totally creeped me out! My family & I would spend several weeks out of the Summer in Florida, so you can see why I would panic from being so close to the ocean. lol Unfortunately, it didn't stop with just the ocean, but lakes, ponds, pools, the bathtub....any body of water, whether it was big or little made me freak out! I can remember crying everytime my mom would put bubble bath in the tub for me because I was afraid I wouldn't be able to see Jaws' fin swimming toward me in time to save myself. ha ha

2. Salem's Lot - The twin boys in it were sorta spooky enough, but when one had been turned into a vampire & the other was in bed asleep, you see the great scene of the vampy twin floating up to his window & scratching on the glass whispering "Let me in...." OMG, I was tramatized for months after that!!

3. Planet of the Apes - I HATE talking, walking, human acting apes, monkeys, gorillas, chimps, I don't care whatever they are - they are scary!!!

4. Dawn of the Dead (remake) - Zombies are creepy. Fast zombies scare the HECK out of me!! The beginning scene where the husband & wife go to bed, then the hubby wakes up to find the little neighbor girl standing all bloody at their bedroom door & she takes a bite out of him...he bleeds to death, becomes a zombie & attacks his wife is probably one of the worst/best explosive scenes I've seen in horror. I have this phobia about someone I know and/or love becoming a "monster" of some sort & turning on me - terrifying!!

5. 30 Days of Night - #1 Josh Hartnett is gorgeous! He's so awesome, handsome, brave, yummy...umm, ok, back to the point. (LOL) The vamps in this movie are what I picture vampires to truly be! They are vicious monsters that don't speak as we do, but instead, are demons of the underworld out for blood & the destruction of all of mankind. There is one vamp, in particular, that scares me insane in this movie. He's bald, huge mouth, stocky built. The way he walks & moves his head is so freaking creepy that I can't look away. There's a scene where he gets into the house (the main characters are all hiding upstairs in the attic) & he is walking through the bottom floor sorta "sniffing" their blood out, yet, he hears a man screaming outside & decides to go find the easier prey.... Every time I watch that scene, my heart races because he seems so unstoppable, so animalistic & frightening to me that I almost start shaking just looking at him on screen. lol That is true terror!

Spooky..got to comment on those real quick.

1. Looks like you and I are on the same page with this one...lol

2. My back is to my livingroom window when I watch TV. When I am watching TV alone at night and I hear a noise outside, I am almost affraid to look outside because of that one scene from Salems Lot.

3. OK, thats a new fear I've never heard of but I can see where you're coming from.

4. You and I must be long lost kin or something. I have a terrible fear of the same thing! Flashbacks from The Exorcist I think. OH, great movie and opening scene..I agree.

5. Again, I agree. One of the best vampire movies I've ever seen, with some serious "eye candy" for sure...lol. And the big guy you mentioned; I think I'm going to suggest that one of my larger actors watch that movie and check out his moves. Great effect for a haunted trail!!

Thanks for the reply!! I love discussing movies. :D

Awesome!! I love discussing them too! I have the Movie Madness group over on HS, but right now, it being Summer, it is sorta slow going, except for the games. lol Still, that's a GREAT idea to have an actor in your haunt to mimic that evil vamp from "30 Days of Night" cuz, seriously, I can still picture him so plainly that it still freaks me out!! LOL Arghhhhh...!!!
